Julie Hummer-Bellmyer, MSN, FNP-BC was born in McCook, Nebraska, raised in Fort Collins, Colorado and has lived in the surrounding area for over 40 years. Her family moved to Cheyenne in 2011.
Julie graduated from Poudre High School, attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from UNC’s Nursing Program. Upon graduation, she worked at Poudre Valley Hospital on the neuroscience floor. Julie has also worked as a case manager for a private rehabilitation company, and at the Orthopaedic Center of the Rockies as an operating room RN.
Julie attended graduate school at Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska receiving a Master’s of Science in Nursing, focusing on the Family Nurse Practitioner role. As a Nurse Practitioner, she has worked in the primary care arena. Julie took a sabbatical from nursing and opened a Pet Crematorium with a fellow Nurse Practitioner. It was difficult for both her and her husband to both be self-employed, so she returned to nursing! Julie worked with Veterans at the Cheyenne VA in the Orthopedic clinic/surgery department and most recently at CRMC within the Supportive/Palliative Care unit.
Julie and her husband Carl have one adult daughter, Marnie, and one Welsh springer spaniel, Jackson. She loves to spend time with family, volunteer with church activities, go on mission trips, camping, hiking, and biking.
