Dr. Kristina Stefka graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and went on to an Internal Medicine Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. After practicing as a hospitalist for a couple of years in Seattle, WA and Denver, CO, she realized that she wanted to focus on caring for the elderly and chronically ill. Dr. Stefka went on to complete a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Colorado in 2003.
Since that time she has worked in outpatient geriatric clinics and helped to start the first Palliative Care Program in Wyoming. Dr. Stefka worked as both a Staff Physician and Medical Director in subacute and long term care and has served as a Board Member and President of the Wyoming Board of Medicine.
Dr. Stefka is interested in helping to innovate systems of medical care to allow patients and families to more easily participate in their care and make informed choices based on each individual’s goals and values. She believes that great medical care begins with listening to the patient! Dr. Stefka is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Hospice, and Palliative Medicine.
