Meet Wenda

Aug 6, 2020

Wenda is up next, for her staff interview debut. Meet Wenda! She is the Care Coordinator for LIV More, (our sister company who does, personal assistant/helper services, and transportation services) and we took a minute to ask her a few questions, so you all could get to know her a bit better! Check it out:

Q: What does a concierge do, and what other services can LIV More provide?

W: Staff at LIV More wear many “hats” as they say. We like to consider ourselves Caregivers, Personal Assistants, and Concierges.

Examples of Concierge services may include housekeeping, meal prep, laundry, organizing your home, and running errands such as grocery shopping. The list is endless.

We provide respite services to family members who are caregivers, staff can spend a few hours or a full day with your loved one depending on what your needs are. Staff also provide companion services, transportation in and around the city to appointments, social or leisure activities.

Q: What’s your favorite family recipe? Will you share it?

W: One recipe I would enjoy as a kid and my adult children have asked me for is “Auntie Marion’s Pizza Buns”. Marion was my Grandma’s sister so this is now enjoyed by the 5th generation as my son has made it for my Granddaughter too. It’s easy yet delicious and you can change up the ingredients and seasonings:

  • 1lb lean ground beef
  • 1lb bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • I can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 ½ c grated mozzarella
  • Salt and pepper to taste, oregano or Italian seasoning to taste, etc.
  1. Fry together the bacon, onion, green pepper. Drain well, place in a large bowl.
  2. Separately brown hamburger, season with salt n pepper, other spices, drain well, add to bowl.
  3. Add the tomato soup, cheese, and mushrooms to other ingredients. Add more soup as you like.
  4. Spread on bun halves and broil until heated through.
  5. (This is a large recipe, you can half it or it freezes well)

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

W: We are very fortunate to live on an acreage and have cows and horses all around us. We have two dogs as well as many rabbits, birds, and gophers for entertainment. We have increased the vegetable garden this year so we keep very busy with the upkeep on that and other trees, shrubs, and flowers we have planted.

Q: What is LIV to you?

W: LIV is a wonderful team of kind, compassionate individuals working together to enhance services provided to our community. I’m very proud to be part of LIV, not only are staff well educated and skilled in their fields but I’ve been pleasantly surprised just how nice, generous and helpful everyone has been since joining the team. Owners Emily and Troy Loos have created something very special in LIV, you can tell they are passionate about what they do. This benefits our patients and clientele as well as employees.

Q: Favorite quote-book-journal or favorite thing to do for self-care.

W: I think journaling is a really great outlet. I also find getting outside and doing things like watering the plants and refilling the birdseed in the feeders can be very relaxing, You get that much needed Vitamin D from the sun and it’s amazing how the mind can wander and process while you are doing a restful type activity like that.
