Meet Tessa

Meet Tessa. Tessa is a Therapist and Case Manager and is part of our Laramie team. Here is a little more about her, case management, and what she likes to do for self-care!
Q: How would you describe yourself as a Therapist?
T: I feel it’s important to meet the client where they are at, while at the same time encouraging the client towards change. Often someone just needs another person to be fully present to listen and validate their experience and feelings and I try to do this for people. Providing a client with a safe space to share and an advocate can do wonders.
Q: What is Case Management to you?
T: Case management is navigating confusing systems, finding answers to questions, holistically caring for clients and ensuring needs are met, and being a friendly smiling face during tough times.
Q: What is your favorite family recipe? Will you share it?
T: I love food. It’s hard to choose a favorite! My mother started a tradition of making deep dish pizza on Christmas Eve and I love this. Really no special recipe for the crust and sauce, anything from Pinterest will do! We also have Ancini de Pepe at all special events. And when we want to throwback to our ancestor’s pasties. From my husband’s side of the family, I love making fried pancakes using the Betty Crocker recipe!
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
T: In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors with my family and friends. We enjoy hiking and camping in the summer and snowshoeing and snowboarding in the winter. I like to read, particularly historical fiction. And veg on the couch as I eat!
Q: What is LIV to you?
T: LIV is community, compassion, comfort, and a champion to help!
Q: What is your favorite quote or thing to do for self-care?
T: “Always be a first-rate version of yourself, never a second rate version of someone else.” May West
