Meet Sheridan

Feb 11, 2021

Meet Sheridan, case manager on LIV’s Laramie team! Sheridan Roling recently received her Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University. She has previous work experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit and has assisted with acute mental health care, leading a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy group, and case management.

Q: What is Case Management to you?

S: To me, case management is about the integration of services. It is important for the client to have someone on their care team who can speak with different providers and organize their many thoughts and recommendations. Case management is also about ensuring that clients are supported and heard while also encouraging them to maintain independence and self-advocacy.

Q: What’s your favorite family recipe? Will you share?

S: My favorite family recipe changes with the season, so right now it would have to be chocolate sour cream cookies, and yes, I would be happy to share!

Mix everything together in the following order:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream (do not use low fat)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa

Put on a cookie sheet by the spoonful. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, and cool on a rack.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?

S: I enjoy spending my time outdoors with friends and family. I love finding new spots to camp every year and I am trying to convince myself to do a gravel bike race this year!

Q: What is your favorite thing to do for self-care?

S: Self-care is ever-changing for me! It can range from watching movies to cleaning to refresh my space. It really depends on what I need at that moment.

Q: Can you tell us more about the Chronic Care Management Program, you’re working on in Laramie?

S: Chronic care management (CCM) is a great program that I am lucky to work on. CCM is an integrative approach to care for my geriatric patients in which I work with them on health goals. I connect with my patients’ in-between visits through phone calls and home visits to support them and their loved ones. I am able to speak with their physician and other community agencies and resources that we integrate into their care.

Q: What is LIV to you?

S: LIV means having a supportive and caring team to work with. My team strives to provide the best care for our clients and in doing so, encourages us to the best team for our clients.
